"The Things I Thought Were Wrong" by Katie O'Conner

A world of hate
A world of greed
A world of pride
With countries striving for power
I always thought they said not to have "cliques"
When here are countries grouping together
Never siding with one another
I always thought violence is bad
But here we are fighting each other
Killing our citizens
But its alright that they died,
Because they fought for out country?
I always thought we should forgive one another
Feuds start and they end
Often in violence
But isn't the past is the past,
Shouldn't wefocus a little more of the future?
This world is getting worst
History repeats because of silly mistakes
And we're all like technology
Growing
Spreading
Advancing
Overcoming.

A very close friend of mine sent this to me. It's something she wrote. It was too beautiful not to share, but sadly, all too true.
